Making it to Pacheia Ammos

Well travel went alright. And the sky was lovely to watch.

I even saw the sunrise the next morning.

And I did make it off to Europe, stopping briefly in Stuttgart to run through security and passports checks.

Where I think I lost a pandora charm, and one of my favorites :( But it was a tight connection and at least I made it to the plane. There were empty seats so I ended up with a window and a whole row to myself!

From there I left Heraklion by bus and traveled over to Rethymno to stay the night. Rethymno is a lovely town with a fabulous historic district and a fort! I didn't explore the fort this time, but wandered around town before dinner.

I love the flowering vines everywhere :)

This is a roman (I think?) fountain built into the middle of town. I had a lovely Cretan dinner at Agrimia, and chatted with a Scittish couple on holiday. Across this street was a lovely paintings shop...

Which acquired an adorable dog after an hour or so:

And then it was off to bed to catch up on sleep. I stayed in Casa Moazza, which was the house of a prominent Cretan doctor and built on the ruins of a Venetian officer's house before it became a hotel. It was beautiful and the staff were exceptionally friendly. I would love to go back and stay longer! But breakfast was had in this lovely little courtyard...

... And then it was off to the bus station to scurry back across the island to Pacheia Ammos! I met up with Lauren in Heraklion and together we ended up here. Yay!
