The Fourth!

Even if the day before wasn't, today was as exceptionally windy as promised. It's a little eerie, really, as the wind blows through because it whistles through all the cracks and rushes through the shutters, but in particular it keens in passing through phone lines and the like. But the waves it kicks up are spectacular:

Especially for our usually much calmer shore. The wind blows about twenty miles and hour with some gusts up to forty, and boats are forbidden from going out to sea today. So that's rather different!

Lizzy and I worked inside on plaster all day to avoid the wind. And apparently the field ass quite blustery for the poor diggers.

That being the case Brett and I are hanging out inside, though we'll be headed out to our Forth of July dinner this evening and hoping the wind isn't too bad!
