Saturday!

So the Fourth of July dinner was a rousing success. It occurred to me that this is my fourth Independence Day outside the states. But despite that they have always been great fun and this one was no different. We went to the same little restaurant, Manoli's, that we went to last year.  We had corn on the cob with coleslaw and burgers. This year with real burger buns!  The food was all delicious, even if the burger still tasted distinctively Greek.

And of course once the party got going there had to be a round of the national anthem.

Manoli even managed to set off some fireworks in the alley, as it was way too windy out to do it on the beach. And then we had sparklers!

It was a fabulous dinner indeed, though the windy night continued. We ended up hanging out at L&L for a bit before heading off to bed.

This morning the wind had yet to abate and it is blustery as ever even now. But there were also clouds in the sky unlike anything I've seen in Greece before and they've stuck around all day.

No rain yet, though! Now for a lazy afternoon before we see about adventuring tomorrow!
