So after all that last bit, it was almost Halloween time! Some of the other ladies in my department and I went out on an appropriately drizzly and foggy night to take a Jack the Ripper Tour. We had a fabulous tour guide and some creepy, drizzly skies.
And appropriately enough passed a newly painted pub to match the theme. (It says 'Catch me if you can' off to the side there.) While on our tour we also passed someone dressed in in old timey clothing lurking on a street corner. Not part of the tour, but appropriately creepy all the same.
The side door to the pub...
But it was a fun evening, even if a bit chilly. TfL was all about the Halloween theme, too, and happily decorated the tube station near my place to demonstrate as much.
Halloween eve was quite fun, though, because I had a ticket to go see Cats! In the lovely Palladium Theater.
It was quite pretty inside, and I had a seat perched waaaay up at the top.
Which still had a pretty good view. The show was amazing. Beverly Knight was playing one of the main roles, and has the most fantastic voice. You could just about hear everyone in the theater suck in a breath when she got to the big moment in one of the final songs.
The next day I met up with Emma and Alex to go visit the London Dungeon. Which required a wander past Big Ben...
And over to the London Eye.
And then into the Dungeon! It turned out to be quite fun and appropriately scary for Halloween.
After scaring ourselves early in the morning we had a nice wander along Southbank, as it turned out to be a nice day.
And over to Borough Market for lunch.
The market has just about everything fresh you could want. Meat...
Cheese... (that stares back at you!)
And veggies galore. Also lots of delicious pre-made food. We feasted on venison burgers for lunch.
This little guy was hanging out in the glass enclosure where we found a seat to eat.
Then we had a wander over here and hung out.
Then it was on to try my hand at some make-up for Halloween. It turned out alright!
And looked fancy in the lights of the bar we ended up at! It was a fun night full of dancing with some friends and then back home again.
This lovely painted piece was part of our walk home.
Halloween turned out to be quite fun! I saw lots of interesting and well-done costumes all over the place. I'll definitely look forward to another of them!
