Adventures! (Part 1)

Hello all! So I've definitely been slacking a bit, but with good reason! Classes finally got officially started this past week, so a good bit of my time has been spent on campus and running about for that. But I did have some adventures before the term set in so here they are!

This one actually is part of a practice essay I am working on, but these are the Benin bronze plaques. They're interesting individually, but I really like the way that they are displayed all together in the museum. It's quite striking!

An evening out exploring the nearby area brought this visit about. Shillibeers is just a couple blocks from our hall. And full of lovely greenery outside!

I just super liked this glass ^^

It's a comfy atmosphere with delicious food and tasty beers and people bring their dogs in with them! This little guy was even given the honor of a chair. He was so cute and friendly!

Wandering around the city brought other fun sights! This statuary is actually on the lawn of the church with the karyatids, and I've no idea what it's for. I always think of it as the giant plastic vampire teeth sculpture when I walk past it.

One evening a bit of my program went here to hang out. The building is rather pretty at night, and has a variety of seating. Inside, outside and roof!

One of my last free days was spent on a giant tour from Tavistock Square to the Tower Bridge. (And what a lovely sunny day it was for having a wander!) After hopping off the bus I started out by the lions at the base of Nelson's column.

Which is quite tall. There really is a statue up there, too!

Yay lions!

This staute is set up in the roundabout island just across from the column. I'm not entirely sure what it's going for, but it is quite the eye-catcher all the same!

Wander wander...

Big Ben! A definite must see along this little tour. I was even just in time to hear it chime the quarter 'til.

I may have taken lots of pictures of it...

One last glimpse!

And then I set off to walk along the river, enjoying the afternoon on my way to the Tower Bridge. The south bank of the river was really busy on such a nice afternoon, so I stuck to the north one for a bit, which provided a nice view all the same!
