Settling In (Sort of)

So I'm glad to report that I did indeed make it to my accommodations. It's a nice enough room and a short walk from a busy little shopping center that contains just about everything you need to get by. I've been working on setting up house, but mostly wandering around getting lost and looking at things.

Puppies!
There's a lovely park not too far away, with a nice big green lawn and a neat clock tower. It's got some lovely shaded walkways, too. And -very- friendly squirrels.

This little guy gave some serious thought to climbing my jeans.
Saturday night seemed like an interesting evening to wander about, and after meeting a fellow student to be, Tom, on my way out of the hall, we set off to explore Camden Town and check out The World's End pub. Which was quite lovely and plays all the loud rock music you can stand.

Sunday I picked up some more things I needed and wandered about before heading into town to find dinner. I ended up at this tiny little place called the Stockpot, where they were rocking the old school machinery. The actual till was equally as antiquated as this thing - which is essentially an awesome calculator. The food was tasty too!

On the way home I happened upon a cute little bubble tea shop... which might probably maybe be just as good as Lollicup. Yay! There seem to be a lot of bubble tea shops around Chinatown, so I should probably try all of them. So that I can pick a favorite of course.

And then it was off home again, past all the lovely buildings lit up for the night. Tomorrow will be a day for more organizing of stuff.
